This policy explains what personal information Salinero Hotels collects when you use salinerohotels.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it deliberately plain. If anything here is unclear, write to us — the address is at the bottom.
The short version
- We collect your details only when you give them to us — through the reservation enquiry form or the newsletter signup.
- We use no advertising or analytics cookies until you accept them in the banner. Decline, and none are set.
- We do not sell your data, ever. We share it only with the service providers that help us reply to you and send the emails you asked for.
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data at any time.
What we collect and why
| When | What | Why (lawful basis) |
|---|---|---|
| Reservation enquiry (book page) | Name, email, phone, country/nationality, travel dates, party size, and anything you write in the notes. | To check availability and reply to your enquiry — steps taken at your request before a possible booking. |
| Newsletter / free itinerary | Your email address (and the page you signed up from). | Your consent — to send you the itinerary and occasional planning notes. Withdraw any time via the unsubscribe link. |
| Any visit (if you accept cookies) | Standard analytics/ad-measurement data: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and a Meta advertising identifier. | Your consent — to measure interest and show our lodges to travellers planning a Tanzania trip. |
| Every visit (server logs) | IP address and request details, kept briefly for security and abuse-prevention (e.g. rate-limiting form spam). | Our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. |
Cookies and the consent banner
When you first visit, a banner asks you to Accept or Decline cookies used for advertising and measurement.
- If you decline (or ignore the banner), we load no Meta Pixel and set no advertising cookies. The site works exactly the same.
- If you accept, we load the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, which sets cookies that let us understand which pages resonate and show relevant ads to people who have visited. Your choice is remembered on your device.
- To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser (or use your browser's cookie controls) and the banner will appear again.
A small number of strictly necessary items are always used — for example, remembering your cookie choice itself, and showing our Tripadvisor rating badge. These set no advertising identifiers.
The companies that process data for us
We use a few trusted providers. They act on our instructions and only for the purposes below:
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France / EU) — stores our newsletter and enquiry contacts and sends our emails. Brevo privacy policy.
- Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram) — the advertising pixel, loaded only after you accept cookies. Meta privacy policy.
- Tripadvisor — the Travelers' Choice rating badge shown on our pages. Tripadvisor privacy policy.
- Our web host — serves the site and its email over our own domain (SPF/DKIM-aligned).
Some of these providers may process data outside Tanzania or the EEA; where they do, they rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to handle your reservation and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Newsletter contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Security logs are kept only briefly. We don't keep personal data longer than we need it.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- See the personal data we hold about you, or receive a copy of it;
- Correct anything that's wrong;
- Delete your data, or restrict/object to how we use it;
- Withdraw consent at any time — unsubscribe from any email, or decline cookies — without affecting anything done beforehand.
To exercise any of these, email bookings@salinerohotels.com and we'll respond promptly. If you're in the EU/UK and believe we've mishandled your data, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
Our site and services are intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Booking details for children travelling with you are provided by the accompanying adult.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as our services or the law evolve. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
